Recurrence of keratoconus in corneal graft

چکیده
Keratoconus (KC) is a bilateral sight threatening disease that affects the cornea. It consists of gradual steepening central cornea associated with irregular astigmatism and may lead to corneal opacities. In some cases, keratoplasty needed restore vision. Even though it not frequent, recurrence KC in donor tissue has been described, usually bilateral. Recurrence respond problems related graft or personal environmental factors persist after surgery. We present case recurrent 20 years clinical, topographic, histopathological analysis.

Prediction of Corneal Condition After Corneal Ring Implantation in Keratoconus Patients
Background: Keratoconus is a common complication among corneal defects. As a result of expeditious and extensive progress of medical science in recent decades, corneal ring implantation has turned into a successful surgical procedure to correct the vision of Keratoconus patients; however, selecting the right patient is essential in the success of the operation. The prediction of corneal conditi...
متن کاملcorneal graft biomechanics after penetrating keratoplasty in keratoconus
purpose: to evaluate corneal hysteresis and corneal resistance factor in penetrating keratoplasty grafts in a group of keratoconic eyes using the ocular response analyzer (ora) and to evaluate the relationship between donor size, donor-recipient disparity and central graft thickness (cgt), and ora parameters. methods: this cross-sectional study was conducted on 34 eyes of 34 keratoconus patient...
متن کاملAcute corneal hydrops in keratoconus
Acute corneal hydrops is a condition characterized by stromal edema due to leakage of aqueous through a tear in descemet membrane. The patient presents with sudden onset decrease in vision, photophobia, and pain. Corneal thinning and ectasias combined with trivial trauma to the eye mostly by eye rubbing is considered as the underlying cause. With conservative approach self-resolution takes arou...
متن کاملEvaluation of Corneal Aberrometry Parameters Before and After Cross-Linking in Patients with Keratoconus
Background and Objective: In the last decade, cross-linking (CXL) has been widely used for treating people with progressive keratoconus. The present study aimed to compare corneal aberrometry parameters before and after CXL in patients with keratoconus. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 67 patients with keratoconus referred to Farshchian Sina Medical Education Center, Hamad...
متن کاملCharacterization of corneal structure in keratoconus.
UNLABELLED The increasing volume of patients interested in refractive surgery and the new treatment options available for keratoconus have generated a higher interest in achieving a better characterization of this pathology. The ophthalmic devices for corneal analysis and diagnosis have experienced a rapid development during the past decade with the implementation of technologies such as the Pl...
